November 30 is “National Methamphetamine Awareness Day.” The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) has proclaimed November 30 as “National Methamphetamine (Meth) Awareness Day.” This observance presents a great opportunity for communities to raise awareness of meths devastating effects on individuals, families, and communities. Because meth use is linked to many crimes, including identity theft and child abuse and neglect, victim advocates and service professionals may wish to organize local events to bring attention to this very dangerous drug. DOJ has launched a Web site, www.usdoj.gov/methawareness to help you in your efforts. The site offers comprehensive educational information for local U.S. Attorney’s offices, DEA field offices, and organizations such as Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America to help you create a coalition to organize local events. "Please visit the site listed above. It contains very useful information on how meth can effect you and those individuals around you." Donna Duncan Goshen County Victims Assistance Office |
