Welcome to the Goshen County Wyoming Web-Site!

Goshen County is located in the southeastern corner of the state and its eastern boundary borders the Nebraska state line. The county seat is located in Torrington, Wyoming.
Goshen County was organized in 1913 and includes the incorporated city of Torrington, and towns of Lingle, Fort Laramie, Yoder and LaGrange. Unincorporated population centers in the county include Jay Em, Prairie Center, Hawk Springs, Huntley, and Iowa Center.

Our county is home to a Medium Correctional Prison, Sugar Beet Factory, Rail Crude Oil Loading Terminal, a large Sale Barn and several producing farms and ranches. Eastern Wyoming Community College is also located in the county.

Some popular pastimes include hunting, recreation at the Hawk Springs and Springer Reservoirs, and fishing at the Platte and Laramie Rivers that pass through the county. The county also has two outdoor swimming pools and a golf course for recreational activities.

Goshen County’s rich history includes the Fort Laramie National Historic Site, the Hell Gap Paleoindian Site, the Oregon Trail Ruts, the Grattan Massacre Site, and the Homesteaders Museum to name a few.

Located on the south lawn of the Goshen County Courthouse, it was one of 200 statues placed across the nation to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Boy Scouts. What makes the Torrington statue truly one-of-a-kind is the remarkable construction of its base. Charter members of the Rex Young Society of Rock Hounds donated rocks, gemstones, minerals, and fossils for the pedestal. Read More
