Fire Warden
By State Statute, the Goshen County Commissioners have jurisdiction over the function of the Fire Warden’s Office. The Fire Warden’s Office is located in the Goshen County Court House 2125 East A Street. You will find that Goshen County boasts nine (9) fully equipped Fire Departments all manned by trained volunteers. Nine Fire Protection Districts exist as a taxing authority to fund the Fire Departments operations in Ft Laramie, Hawk Springs, Jay Em, LaGrange, Lingle, Prairie Center, Torrington, Veteran and Yoder. Two additional Fire Protection Districts, Huntley and Chugwater, are also included within the boundaries of Goshen County. The Torrington Dispatch center located in the Torrington Police Department at 436 East 22nd Avenue handles all of the dispatch duties for all fire calls and 911 Emergencies. Controlled Burns You always need to call in if you plan on doing any controlled burns. Give the dispatch officer your address, when you plan on burning and call them when the controlled burn is completed.
