Welcome to the Goshen County Fire Warden’s Web Page. By State Statute, the Goshen County Commissioners have jurisdiction over the function of the Fire Warden’s Office. The Warden’s Office is located in the Court House 2125 East A Street. Fire Warden Bill Law may be reached by calling the office at 307-532-7952 or his cell phone 307-532-0305. You will find that Goshen County boasts nine (9) fully equipped Fire Departments manned by trained volunteers. Nine Fire Protection Districts exist as a taxing authority to fund the Fire Department operations in Ft Laramie, Hawk Springs, Jay Em, LaGrange, Lingle, Prairie Center, Torrington, Veteran and Yoder. Two additional Fire Protection Districts, Huntley and Chugwater, are also included within the boundaries of Goshen County. The Torrington Dispatch Center in the Torrington Police Department at 436 East 22nd Avenue handles all of the dispatch duties for all fire calls and 911 emergencies. The non-emergency number for the Torrington Dispatch Center is 307-532-7001. There are no fire restrictions in place in Goshen County at the present time. Please be aware, you do always need to call if you plan on conducting a controlled burn on your property. Give the dispatch officer your address, when you plan to start the burn, and call when it is completed.
